Project Description
Moving through a phalanx of mid-rise housing blocks, a covered walkway and attached café serve as a colorful antidote to the regimented architecture of Bailuwan City, China.
We are very happy that for this cafeteria they were equipped with CREW chairs and RIS stools made of recovered candle ⛵ and a personalized plywood structure in yellow and green corporate colors.🍋🍐
Designed by architecture firm SelgasCano, the uncontrollable explosion of angled steel tubes and corrugated metal roofs is a social magnet for the city’s thousands of residents.
In addition to Junya Ishigami, the developer commissioned Sou Fujimoto, Ryue Nishizawa, and SelgasCano to create these special elements, with each company working independently of the others to add a different flavor to the architectural stew.
